Back and into it

Back from holidays for a week and a half now and back into it. Still have a pesky kennel cough that I picked up on the plane home and can’t shake – but generally into it.

Good trip  - will stick to my previous advice to anyone who rides a bike. Don’t die without doing the French Alpes.

4 bucket list ticks:
Ø  Ventoux – tick
Ø  Took RJ to Disneyland before he is 10.(Made it by a month)
Ø  Paddled under the Pont du Gard
Ø  Saw  Guernica

Would have been 5, but rained out and temps dropped below freezing the day I has scheduled for Galibier. Next time.

Stated training again now:

The log for the Period since return:

Sat 1/10                Ride 1hr +  Greendale on TT
Sun 2/10              Run 20k run/trek of Narrow Neck in 4deg + whatever wind chill factor attaches to 30kph winds and dizzling rain.Mon 3/10   Ride tt on the aeros 40k
Tue 4/10              Rest - coughing
Wed 5/10            pm – 7.5k tempo run. Nice going though respiratory problems causing grief.
Thu 6/10              pm – heaving up lungs – technically a rest day.
Fri 7/10                 pm – death by kennel cough - nought
Sat 8/10                pm – sick as a dog – slow miserable lap of the lake 5k in 26min
Sun 9/10              am - - tempo lap of the river  
Mon 10/10          pm – easy run 8.5k with 3 x 1km at 10k goal pace
Tu 11/10               pm – hard pump home on the rat route – in the tt in the aero position 35k
We 12/10             am – ride to work easy 35k

29.6weeks to IM – Psyched and ready to get into it.
